Goodie Bag -- As a going away gift, my friend Lillian gave me a bag of noise makers before I left Columbus. She specified that I was to use them for this project. Well, I found the bag earlier this week and pulled it out to make today's piece. Every item in the bag can be heard. The next couple of days will feature solos on items in the bag. Enjoy...

Meeting Mudd -- Today's piece, the final in my Uncle Skip Loses His Mind series, introduces the final voice on that tape: my grandmother (who was affectionately known as Mudd for reasons I don't quite remember). You'll hear her doing what she did best, giving Skip a hard time.

Judson Church is my final danceaday.com collaboration with Boris Willis. Dance-A-Day will complete its year on Sunday. We've made 43 videos together over the last year. Wow.

In addition to scoring this final video, I also got to be the cameraman for the dancing. We were attending a show at Judson Church, an important venue in the dance world. Afterwards, Boris made this video (with some guest performers) so that he too could dance in Judson Church.

Row Your What is another piece made sampling from an old cassette recording of my uncle, my brother and me, made years ago when I was only 5 or 6.

We were not able to sing "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" as a round, so I've layered the recording to add that effect. Enjoy.

Upside Down -- Years ago, when I was only 5 or 6, my uncle came to visit us and he brought his guitar with him. He taught my brother and I some songs, and played around with us. We had a tape recorder that we loved using to record all kinds of stuff, including the different songs he sang with us on that visit.

That tape has survived all of these years, and is labeled simply "Uncle Skip Loses His Mind". I recently gained possession of this tape and am mining it for source sounds for this podcast, so stay tuned. In today's episode, my voice is the first that you will hear. Uncle Skip and my younger brother Daniel ("Danny") are also featured.

Enjoy.

Big Feet Birthday -- Today is my birthday. To celebrate I've dug up a recording that my uncle made for me on the occasion of my thirteenth birthday (twenty years ago...). As you will hear, he was very sensitive during my awkward teenage years :-)

Today is also my second-to-last danceaday.com collaboration with Boris Willis. Be sure to check out his video today, he managed to unearth an old(ish) photo of me from his personal archive...

Happy Birthday Me!

Morneaus -- Yesterday I received an email from Alex Overington, a student at Oberlin Conservatory, letting me know that he had named a piece for me (sort of). He's adapted a piece by Busdriver called Less Yes's, Mo No's. Alex's version, for two pianos, two saxophones, percussion and electronics, is called Less Yes, Morneau!

For today's minute I made my own version of Busdriver's song.
