War Prayer II continues a series of pieces on Mark Twain's War Prayer I began yesterday.

The first installment set the tone of the town —patriotic, proud —and provided an introduction to the church service with an Old Testament reading and some organ music. Today we hear a musical collage inspired by the pastor's prayer. He asks God to protect our troops in battle and to deliver victory to us.

Tune in tomorrow to hear the conclusion of this series with the prayer of the old man.

Hi Dave,

I remember doing this piece as a visual project using John Groth's powerful crude ink drawings over a soundtrack consisting of the Adagio Movement from Mahler's 9th. Check it out.
